Alan Taylor, Head Brewmaster at Pints Brewing who will oversee operations at the forthcoming brewpub located at 92nd and Ramona in the Lents Town Center will be at the Street Fair from 1:30-2:30 to meet more members of the Lents community. While there he will not only be discussing the two beers on tap – a NW IPA and a Helles Lager, but will also answer questions about the Lents project, known to date under its working name Z. Haus Brewing.
Seismic IPA 6.2% ABV – 75 IBU
Brace yourself for the clean, bright bitterness and crisp finish of our dry-hopped and unfiltered NW IPA. Don’t fault us if the Columbus, Amarillo, Cascade and Simcoe hops shake your belief in the IPAs you have been enjoying up to now.
XL 7 – Helles Unfiltered Lager 5.0% ABV - 22 IBU
Some experiments are just trying to work within the parameters of a classic. The Bavarian Helles is a response to the rise of the Pilsner beers in the 19th Century, being less bitter and a bit more malt-focused. A great Helles combines a clean, crisp malt background with a subtle—yet present—spicy hop flavor. It has an elegant simplicity.
About Alan Taylor
Alan Taylor graduated with his Braumeister degree from the VLB in Berlin, Germnay in 1998. Since then he has worked in breweries in Berlin; Nesselwang, Bavaria; Hood River, OR; King City, CA; San Jose, CA; and Portland, Oregon, where he has finally settled with his German-born wife, 2 children and German Wire-Haired Pointer mix.
